I studied engineering at university and then went to work in New York in project management at a bank. When I came back to the UK I wanted a job that combined engineering and project management and the railway project manager job was perfect

My background is in Telecommunications Engineering, now I also do a bit more of signalling and control.

How do you see yourself in 5 years with engineering?
Yes, it is important to do well on your GCSE's as if you are interested in doing an apprenticeship you will need them and if you want to continue doing A levels and then university, you will also need good grades

If you want to go to university you need A Levels and you need good GCSE's to study A Levels. You can also undertake an apprenticeship which only requires GCSE's. Usually apprenticeships require at least grade C in Maths and English.

My basic week is 36 hours but I imagine I will need to work more hours when we get into the construction phase

Sorry to hear that. There are so many aspects of Geography, try finding one that interests you and focusing on that. For example, types of chemical erosion or patterns of people interactions in a city are both 'geography'
