Mitesh makes top 100 Asians in Tech
We’re proud to announce that Mitesh, the founder and chief executive of Success at School (that’s the guy in charge to you and me), was named as one of the top UK Asians in British technology.
Mitesh won a place in the Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech 2016, announced at the Diversity Tech Summit in London this month, for creating the easy-to-use, information-packed online careers tool you’re using at this very moment! And if you’ve used even half of the features on the site, we’re sure you’ll all agree it was well deserved.
Here at Success at School, we’re all delighted that Mitesh is being recognised for his hard work, imagination and inspiring ideas – while Mitesh just hopes that the publicity will enable more young people to make the most of their futures with the help of what we think is a very special careers tool.
And our visitors agree with the judges…
Mitesh will blush, but it’s not just the judges who think he’s doing something a bit special – it’s our users as well. Visitor numbers have gone through the roof over the last twelve months – from about 10,000 a month last June to over 75,000 a month today.
Pretty staggering stuff, we’re sure you’ll agree. It just goes to show what a magic combination outstanding information and a great user experience can be. But if you’re a regular Success at School-er, this won’t come as a surprise!
We asked Mitesh what he thought and here’s what he said: "I’m delighted to have made the Asians in Tech Top 100 list. There are some incredible names on the list and I feel privileged to be amongst them. We’ve worked really hard at Success at School and I’m glad our efforts to help young people are being recognised. I’m hoping this recognition helps us reach more young people to help them make better decisions about their future."
So where did it all come from?
Mitesh set up Success at School back in 2013 after leaving the world of investment banking to pursue something he really believed in – career opportunities for young people.
In the years since, Success at School has gone from strength to strength. Mitesh always believed that the internet was the way to make the careers journey easy for young people. That’s why he combined an easy-to-use interactive platform with masses of vital resources and job postings from top employers to create the Success at School website.
People just can’t stop saying nice things about us!
This isn’t the first time we’ve been recognised. Just ten months after Success at School was launched, we got a letter from the good folks at the Department of Education, who called the site "useful", "informative" and "valuable" (not that we’re boasting!).
Then there are our posters, which link school subjects to career paths, and which we produced with help from our friends at the National Careers Service. When they went on sale in May 2015, they were an instant hit, with teachers describing them as "bright, easy to read and effective". Today, they’re adorning the walls of one in 15 schools and colleges in the UK.
So don’t take it from us – take it from the Diversity Tech Summit, the government, and the UK’s teachers. If you’re not already set up on out free careers tool, sign up to get your career on the road today.
