The Details

Our Finance apprenticeship scheme is an alternative route to university and provides you with the opportunity to earn a competitive salary whilst gaining experience & knowledge across a number of different finance teams and studying to achieve an accountancy qualification.  

Our Finance function delivers the insights that drive our financial outperformance and long-term value. We engage with all areas of the National Grid business reporting on performance and acting as partners to aid in decision making. On the programme, you’ll gain exposure to different parts of our business and be an integral part of the team from the start. The finance function plays an important role across a number of areas, and you’ll be actively involved in the following: 

  • Playing an integral part in business decision making
  • Planning, budgeting and forecasting 
  • Reporting and commentary 
  • Maintaining strong controls and financial integrity 
  • Supporting business and finance initiatives to drive performance and efficiencies 
  • Understanding of the finance systems and data structures 

Through the finance apprenticeship programme, you will undertake a 2-year Level 4 apprenticeship which upon successful completion will lead into a 3-year Level 7 apprenticeship. Throughout both apprenticeships you will undertake a number of placements with the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of roles across different types of finance teams. 

Location

This roles is based in our Warwick office. We offer flexible, hybrid working.

About you

  • You will need to have a GCSE in English Language AND in Math (including Level 2 functional skills) at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • 2 A levels / A2: Grades A* - C or equivalent
