Hi James,Undertaking work experience in the financial sector would be a good way to stand out because it shows hiring managers that you are serious about working in Finance and have made an effort to gain relevant work experience.  I personally didn't undertake any financial work experience, but I did spend my gap year working in retail and hospitality, as well as having previous experience  working in an office, which I really enjoyed! One of the best ways to stand out when applying for apprenticeships is to do a lot of research about the company [link removed] values, conduct and culture. Try to align the companies values with your own personal values [link removed] If you find a company donates a lot of money into DE&I initiatives (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), you can explain why you wanted to work for that specific company and how this philanthropy aligns with your own personal [link removed]'s important to know what’s happening in the market, because you may be asked about current Market news/trends - you can do this by getting a Financial Times or The Economist [link removed] think improving your interpersonal skills is really important in preparing for the interview process, because throughout this process you will be communicating with lots of different people, whether that is with peers in the assessment centre, hiring managers in interviews or networking with current employees.
