Beyond asset management, the property sector offers roles such as investment management, property management, leasing, development, valuation, planning, and corporate real estate advisory. Recruitment processes vary but often include an online application, psychometric tests, interviews (competency and technical), and, for graduate or early-career roles, an assessment centre with case studies or group exercises. Networking and internships can also be key entry routes.

In addition to asset management, popular pathways include quantity surveying, which focuses on cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control of construction projects; capital markets, which involves property investment, acquisitions, and financial structuring; and real estate development, which centres on creating or refurbishing buildings. Other routes include valuation, where apprentices learn to assess property values; property management, which deals with the operational side of buildings; building surveying, which is more technical and involves inspecting and maintaining structures; planning and urban regeneration, which shapes communities and infrastructure; and corporate real estate, managing property portfolios for large organisations. Further to what Sade mentioned, the application process tends to include telephone interviews, psychometric tests, assessment centres which measures your ability to work as a group and present, then in-person interviews which are usually the final stage.
