@MQ_ yes a maths degree is good for finance. When I worked at an investment bank, we hired a lot of maths graduates. Although that was some time ago, I don't think that's changed now. What area of finance are you interested in?

Hi, While a maths degree is encouraged (and sometimes) necessary for more quantitative rolls within Investment Banking, Asset Management and, to some extent, Commercial Banking, it is not as heavily sought after in other parts of the bank such as the Retail Bank, Private Bank and for a majority of the roles in Commercial [link removed] work with many graduates who have done their degrees in subjects such as Russian Literature ([link removed], niche subjects and/or subject with no relation to Financial Services). I recommend you research the roles you want to apply to (look at job postings on the careers page of multiple organisations) and check what the requirements/encouragements are for that role.
