In an apprenticeship you work 4 days and have 1 day study compared to a degree where you're just studying unless you decide to take on a part time job. Whilst you only study 1 day in a law apprenticeship you are only covering one exam based module and one coursework based module at a time, however, if you don't manage to cover the study in the course of the day it is expected (and quite common) that you'll have to pick it up during the week or on weekends but not that different to the nature of studying for a degree.
