I know some people have done apprenticeships after having done University. I know the main benefit is no debt and getting paid for an apprenticeship and whilst most of it is on the job work, students are still required to study as well. Do you think it is balanced or do you think it makes it more demanding or difficult?
I think an apprenticeship can be more demanding than going to university in some ways, but it really depends on how you manage your time and workload. In an apprenticeship, you’re balancing full-time work with studying, so there’s way less downtime compared to university where you might have more flexibility. You’re also expected to apply what you’re learning to real-world tasks, which can feel more intense, but it also gives you hands-on experience that’s incredibly valuable. With university, the academic workload can also be intense, with large volumes of reading, lectures, and assessments, often with less hands-on experience compared to an [link removed] pressure of working and learning simultaneously can be challenging, but for me, it’s a great way to build practical skills quickly. If you prefer earning and gaining experience while studying, an apprenticeship might feel more rewarding, even if it’s a bit tougher at [link removed] hope this helps!
