It’s really rewarding but also a lot of hard work. You get to see really cool things at work but you’ve also got to be quite careful at balancing university and working. I’ve been to court a couple of times and it’s not quite like the TV! The barristers usually do all the talking and you are there to assist.
Some lawyers don't even go to court! Law apprenticeships are incredibly varied so unless you're in a disputes team ('contentious work' - think court, arguments etc) you may never go to court! I spent three years in our Corporate team ('Transactional' - think buying and selling companies) and never had a reason to go. The actual apprenticeship as Jordan said does open very incredible opportunities to you at a young age and can include travelling internationally to meet clients as well as attending very very fancy dinners haha
