Hi, the type of skills an employer looks for variates from employer to employer. However, any work experience in the field you are looking to work in is certainly a good thing. Employers also tend to look for people who are confident, team workers, good communicators and are eager to learn. Therefore, any experience you have demonstrating these qualities will also help you get a leg up.

Hi,
Employers know that most applicants have just left school and so they don't expect you to have a lot of knowledge or experience in the financial sector. Hiring managers are looking for good work ethic, time management and organisation skills, because in order to balance studying for a degree and working full time it is important to have these qualities. Companies use the application process to understand how well you can collaborate with others, problem-solve and communicate. Employers are ultimately looking for candidates that work well in team and will be able to transition easily into the world of work!
