Hi Finlay,Apologies for the late response. It is nice to hear you are interested in the automotive indusry. My advice is to gather as much engineering and work related experience as possible. As an engineer, leadership, teamwork and problem solving are key skills required on a day to day basis so it will be very advantageous for you to have work experience related to engineering. Even if the work experience is not related to engineering, you should be able to show yourself as a great candidate by showing that you have great interpersonal skills. Also, do engage yourself in extra curricular activities that are STEM related or engineering related as it shows that you are passionate and committed. Another piece of advice I would recommend is considering other level apprenticeships whether it's level 3, 4, 5 or 6 as you will be able to work your way up the career ladder no matter what apprenticeship you take. I hope that was useful and please feel free to ask any follow up [link removed]
