Is there a major difference between phone and face to face interviews?

For my apprenticeship we have to do both so I thought to get an expert opinion on it

I’d say there are differences, whether they are major or not is probably open to interpretation. For in-person interviews, body language, facial expressions etc can be really important and help show case your personality and character. I found that phone interviews were less daunting initially but face to face interviews were slightly more relaxed and you can really get to know the interviewer. Do you have agendas for either interview that might help differentiate what‘s expected of you for each?

Only other difference I would add is that face-face (if in person) will likely be with individuals that have legal knowledge [link removed] Partners/ Associates etc whereas telephone interviews etc tend to be with Early Careers/HR so the types of questions you get might be different! Worth noting that if the interview happens at an earlier stage ([link removed] pre-assessment centre) it'll likely be with Early Careers/HR!
