Will some students have to do a Higher Apprenticeship in some STEM subject areas if they have not done Construction or Engineering BTECS/GCSEs?

Hello, At Atkins we offer a range of different entry routes. For those who wish to start off a career in engineering / construction we would recommend a Level 3 - advanced apprentice route. For this route students will require a good set of GCSE results including a grade B or above maths. Aside from this they do not require any engineering related experience. Vacancies for our apprentice opportunities will go live in September 2017.

Thanks for that and just to make it clear, does that apply to those with gcses only or thosse with A Levels that are relevant STEM?

For those at A Levels they will still require a grade B in Maths GCSE however they might also want to look at alternative routes such as the degree apprenticeships. Again no prior experience required but they will need to achieve C's and above at A levels with Ideally one STEM related subject.

Greatly appreciate being able to obtain immediate answers - thanks for the info which will be of considerable use when next interviewing students in schools and college.
