Hi Apologies for such a late response,As you’ve seen someone do it and because I think it’s possible I’d say you can have studied “irrelevant“ topics at school and still get an apprenticeship in a certain [link removed] you haven’t got the academic background, you’d have to prove genuine interest and aptitude in other ways. [link removed] studied History Law Geography at A-level with grades AAA/ABB… your grades could show you communicate & research well, plus Law and depending what type of history can be very useful in Finance/Accounting - My sister is accountant and she always goes on about how frequent financial policies change and having historical context to financial policies etc. may support your evidence for being interested in the [link removed] I never did Comp Sci/ICT/IT at A Level or GCSE and I have a software engineering degree apprenticeship. I did do Maths, Physics, Chem, & Business Studies though. I also presented a house renovation project to my previous manager (who hired me), so that can also be some supporting evidence it is possible👍🏾If you’re interested in an apprenticeship but lack the knowledge, don’t let it put you off. Tell your own story in your application and gain some knowledge as you apply, then what will be will be! Although should you get in, I’d warn you that it will feel like you’re working 2x/3x harder than your peers to perform at the same level sometimes, but just remember they have prior exposure to certain topics through personal hobbies or education, so just stay calm and believe in your hard work!
