Nowadays both subjects are has a strong correlation and what career choices could i get in your company for studying either degrees/masters

You are absolutely right in seeing the digital shift within the engineering sector and we are particularly passionate about how we can improve our water and waste water services by utilsing technology.

For your second question "The Technology era has affected the Engineering history a lot, what do you think about the trend in the future?" I have pulled together some interesting projects and some highlights around how new technology is helping Severn Trent become a digitally-led company, with customers at its heart! Technology really is changing the way we work.
There are too many to fit here so here are some of my personal favorites:
>Customer shift to digital - [link removed] more customers using our digital service inc. Over 950k customers now using online billing – saving £300k per year in printing and postage
>New Fieldworker app improves productivity and reduces training timescales by 50% - Greater efficiency - saves technicians 30 minutes per day, equating to over £500k per yea
>Severn Trent has pledged to replace its 2,200 vans, cars and tankers with alternative fuel vehicles as soon as possible as the water and waste water company continues to embrace green energy.

> Using Drones - We estimate we save £300,000 per year in inspection costs by using drones and are currently exploring other uses for the technology, such as checking that treatment processes are optimised. We now hire 2 full-time drone pilots at Severn Trent.

The gap between traditional engineering skills and IT has been closing for several years. In Freightliner, our locomotive and cranes are now all driven by computer controlled technology and signalling systems are migrating to cyber-based technology. This transition is one of the biggest technology changes that the industry has seen since its inception. Increasingly, we are looking for people with the right analytical and IT literacy in partnership with the fundamental core principles of traditional engineering.
We sponsor capable undergraduates to complete their university education but our selection speaks more to attitude, aptitude and a willingness to learn than to a specific engineering discipline as our requirements are so broad. Similarly, we recruit graduate engineers and enrol them on fast-track routes to chartered engineering status.
