Hi John,

At HS2, we work very closely with the National College for High Speed rail who partnered with employers to design a curriculum that sets new standards in technical training, combining learning at the college with real work experience, so you know you’re getting the right skills and experience that will help you build your career.

The college opened this academic year and is delivering a High Speed Rail and Infrastructure Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4) as well as a Certificate of Higher Education in High Speed Rail and Infrastructure (Cert HE). The curriculum will grow to encompass further qualifications in the future, including the ability to specialise in areas such as rolling stock.

You can find out more information and register your interest on the college website: [link removed]

Thanks

Hi John,

Here at Arup we have an industry leading rail engineering apprenticeship scheme. You will be able to work on projects such as HS2 and Crossrail that are critical for the UK's development. You will combine your academic studies at a local college with real life work experience on current projects so you know that the work you are doing will be having an impact.

Hi John,

I work for Chiltern, we have a great apprenticeship scheme here and are currently advertising a number of positions on our website. There's also some info on our website about the sort of grades you might need for an apprentice engineer role.

I would definitely consider the Chiltern scheme if you want to work in the Train Operator side of rail engineering/fleet maintenance.

Cheers,

Will
