Clearing/Adjustment

Watch Topic

Can I ask universities what time they will open their phone lines to students wishing to apply for a place via clearing/adjustment?

Also, are our students at a disadvantage by not being able to collect their results until 9 am when some schools seem t be opening their doors alot earlier?

At Sheffield Hallam, we open for Early Clearing (for applicants who already hold there results) from 9am from the 3rd July. We open for Clearing/Adjustment on the 17th August from 6:30am.

Whilst in the past our courses have remained available through Clearing/Adjustment after 9am, we cannot guarantee on course availability, especially for popular courses in areas such as Healthcare and Teaching Education.

Our Confirmation and Clearing Call Centre will be open from 8am to 5pm on Thurs 17 and Fri 18 August. It is unlikely a student will be disadvantaged by not receiving their results until 9am.

Don’t forget that students are able to check if they have a confirmed place using UCAS Track before 9am, and so would be free to check our vacancies online (www.bath.ac.uk) or by calling us from 8am if needed.

Swansea University’s Clearing helpline will be open from 7am on A level results day.

Our Adjustment/ Clearing webpages are already live at: www.swansea.ac.uk/clearing where students can pre-register their interest, prior to results being published in August.

If you are interested in joining an Edge Hill University programme in September 2017, Clearing provides a great opportunity to secure your place.

If you are waiting to receive your results, you are welcome to get in touch with us beforehand to discuss your options. On Thursday 17th August 2017 (A Level Results Day), our lines open at 7am and we will be able to provide instant decisions to most callers on whether we can offer them a place for September 2017. It is important to be aware that places are offered on a first come first served basis and there is a possibility that courses with a small number of vacancies will fill up quickly.

If you have already received your results, we may be able to offer you a place immediately. Our trained advisers can provide guidance and tell you all you need to know about Clearing, student funding and course vacancies.

You can contact our Clearing and Confirmation Helpline by calling 0800 028 66 77, get in touch with our dedicated Adjustment Helpline on 0808 144 66 44, or email us at [email removed]

The opening hours of our Clearing Helpline are as follows:
Weekdays until Wednesday 16th August 2017: 9am-5pm
Thursday 17th August 2017: 7am-8pm
Friday 18th August 2017: 8am-6:30pm
Saturday 19th August 2017: 8:30am-3pm
Monday 21st August – Friday 22nd September 2017 (weekdays only): 8:45am-5pm
