Our Student Recruitment team carry out both school and campus visits for schools and colleges, as well as Uni Taster residential events for Science and Engineering (http://www.bath.ac.uk/events/residential-uni-taster-for-science-and-engineering/) and Humanities and Social Sciences (http://www.bath.ac.uk/events/residential-uni-taster-for-humanities-and-social-sciences/).

At Edge Hill, our Education Liaison and Events team offer a variety of outreach activities and events which are designed to support Year 12 and Year 13 students towards entering Higher Education.

As well as providing impartial information, advice and guidance on a range of topics such as the UCAS application process, Student Finance, and writing Personal Statements, the team also run campus based events which are designed to encourage students knowledge of Higher Education.

In addition to our Open Days and bespoke campus visits for Year 12 and 13 groups, some of our campus based events include:

- Subject specific taster days

- Higher Education Preparation Days

- EHU Summer Residentials (a free four-day, three night summer residential visit which allows Year 12 students to experience
life on campus, as well as a taste of studying their chosen subject at undergraduate level)

-EHU Biology Olympiad Competition

Our Widening Participation team can also offer bespoke outreach for students who may be facing barriers into Higher Education, via the organization of bespoke campus visits and the delivery of targeted workshops in schools and colleges.
Students who meet our Widening Participation criteria can also access additional support in regards to applying for our Residentials programme, and other campus based activity.

At Bishop Grosseteste we have a number of outreach opportunities and we regularly work with schools, FE’s and other institutions seeking to raise aspirations and help prepare young people for Higher Education.

We run bespoke Masterclass sessions, Taster Days and a number of other University experience events that we hold on campus. That being said we have a Student Recruitment team that travel into schools providing workshops, presentations and many other services for FREE. The School and College Engagement Team work with over 200 institutions from across the city region and into neighbouring counties – including those at pre and post 16.

Acting as key points of contact, the important relationship with key feeder institutions is managed by four co-ordinators based in Sheffield working with predominantly Post 16 institutions within the city region and targeted ones just beyond.

The team deliver a range of raising awareness sessions, including student finance, applying to HE, studying at SHU, career subject choices and Y13 progression/transition support to name a few for students from a number of backgrounds

These targeted groups are from a number of backgrounds, including; looked after children, young adult carers, care experienced, care leavers or estranged from their parents, those who are the first generation of their family to go to university, a beneficiary of or in receipt of financial support (i.e. free school meals, pupil premium, college bursary), from areas where participation rates in higher education is low and under-represented ethnic groups.

We also have staff representing each of the four faculties delivering subject specific engagement activity representing each department, across the region and in key target geographic areas.
