Support for students on a Degree Apprenticeship?

Hi,

If your University offers Degree Apprenticeships, how would you support a student if they are coming from a different part of the country? Can they have financial assistance or accommodation affiliated with the University? Could there be social opportunities to be involved with?

Students are able to apply for accommodation through Sheffield Hallam, however this would have to be funded by themselves or the employer as apprentices are not eligible to apply for a student maintenance loan.

It would also be worth noting that if their employer is a levy payer, they would not be able to pay for accommodation or travel fees through their levy pot
