To what extent is age a factor when hiring/taking in apprentices?

Age is usually a factor depending on the level of apprenticeship you are applying for [link removed] are level 2/3 apprenticeships that you can access once you have completed GCSEs/equivalent from the age of [link removed] level apprenticeships (levels 4-7) usually require A level/equivalent qualifications in which case you would need to be 17/18 to make a start, as this is the age where you achieve these [link removed] would say this is typically the thought process when it comes to age. We have had people do gap years and join the company as a 'first year apprentice' at the age of 19. It is less about your age and more about the job criteria and if you are the right fit!
