Hi, that's a great question. I did complete some online legal insight schemes and online work experience before applying, which really helped me learn more about the legal industry and confirmed that I wanted to pursue a solicitor apprenticeship. However, it definitely isn’t essential to have formal legal work experience. In my interview, I spoke about a range of experiences, including my part-time job, extracurricular activities and responsibilities at school. These helped demonstrate transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and time [link removed] would say that if you’re able to do some form of legal work experience, for example a virtual insight scheme, it can be really useful for building your understanding of the legal industry and confirming your interest, particularly in areas like commercial law. That said, it’s equally important to focus on the experiences you already have and how they demonstrate the skills and qualities needed for a solicitor apprenticeship.
