In apprenticeships, [link removed] offers 6 month placements all across the business in the areas you choose. the means once you've found your footing, you can guide you apprenticeship when you want it to go. for me in engineering, that means i can choose some design placements to see if i like that, or try a maintenance placement. It allows you to try lots of different roles and learn from so many different people and experiences. we've got a great suport systems in place. we have an early careers team that we can go to for help who are separate to our managers. they check in with us every month or so to make sure were ok, have the right kind of work and are learning in our placement. along with the early careers team we have mentors who are experienced professionals in our area of the business. so my mentor is a chartered engineer. I go to him with all sorts of questions about engineering and his work experiences or help on a project. they also help guide you to your placement and give you connections. and we have buddies, who are older apprentices who know what its like to be unsure of everything and know the answers to any 'silly' [link removed] is always trying to become more sustainable and more green. there are lots of new jobs forming to support [link removed] personally, I've really enjoyed the travel and experiences I've had. i travelled to italy for work one week. [link removed] is a company thats all over Europe so many if the apprentices have been to Germany. I was invited to attend the Labour party conference where we were trying to change policy to help push green energy more. And I got to meet an Extreme E racecar driver to record a video about apprenticeships and green skills. those are what stood out to me as some of the best things ive found [link removed] does but i know there's more that other people find to be the best parts about [link removed]
