What would you recommend someone have on their CV to stand out if they want to apply for science/research apprenticeships? And what did you have on your CV when you applied?
Hi Sophie,Great [link removed] be honest, it will be difficult curating your CV to be specific for STEM, since at that age there aren't many opportunities to attend specific [link removed], Springpod is a great website because they run virtual work experiences that last several weeks or months, and at the end you learn valuable skills and get a digital certificate which you can put on your [link removed] from that, I think your CV just needs to be professional and well-written, concise yet not short. Always include any extracurriculars you did and then explain the soft skills you got from this. I mentioned that I was captain of my school's basketball team, which taught me leadership skills, communication, and discipline, among others. My advice is, don't stress too much about making it "science-specific", just make sure it is overall high [link removed] being said, your cover letter is one of the most important things on your application. This is the tailored 'letter' you write to a company to say why you want to work for them specifically. Here, you need to do your research on the company, see what their aims and objectives are, and what morals they uphold. Then, you need to mention and include these in some way in your cover letter, to align yourself with the company.
