What was the main reason you chose an apprenticeship?

I am in year 12 and I am currently deciding on going to Uni or taking an Apprenticeship for a pathway in engineering, more precisely robotic engineering :)

Hi,Thank you for your question! There are many reasons why I applied to an apprenticeship. I did apply to University and initially thought that University was the perfect route for me however, I slowly realised I preferred a much more hands-on approach when it came to learning. I still wanted a degree so I looked for degree apprenticeships. Therefore, I am still able to get a degree, get paid to learn and also gain a lot of practical skills. One of the key benefits of an apprenticeship is instant access to the engineering industry and this in particular enticed me to take an apprenticeship. Another reason I took an apprenticeship was because I am a very practical person and it is easier for me to gain skills by learning on the job compared to full time theory.
