do you think that apprenticeship is more suited to specific people and courses
Hi there,Very good question, and one that I think is misunderstood [link removed] think in the past, apprenticeships were seen as the "unorthodox" route, and that you only did them if you couldn't get into university, or if you didn't like [link removed] nowadays, I think it's the opposite. Apprenticeships (especially degree ones) are harder to get into than university, they can set you up with more benefits and gains, and they're for people that want to work hard and study hard! For me, I knew it was a no-brainer since I simply did not want to go to university (no particular reason, it just didn't interest me). Plus, I do believe I am a better learner when I learn and apply what I've [link removed] think apprenticeships can be suited to specific people, but I don't think this is important. Anyone can adapt to their environment, you just have to be willing to do so. And as for courses, there are apprenticeships in so many sectors nowadays, so I don't think that's an [link removed] STEM alone, there are plenty of opportunities!Hope that helps.
I believe that an apprenticeship was the right choice for me because of the way I learn and the path I wanted to follow. Growing up, I had a rough academic year as a teen and it became clear early on that I never saw myself as the academic type who learns best in a standard classroom. I’ve always been someone who prefers being on my feet and getting involved in practical, physical [link removed];That’s what really inspired me to choose an apprenticeship route. I wanted real, practical experience while still gaining a recognised qualification. Being able to earn, learn and build confidence in a real working environment suited me far better than purely academic study ever [link removed] journey hasn’t been straightforward I actually started two separate apprenticeships that I wasn’t able to complete due to various reasons but instead of that putting me off, those experiences strengthened my determination to find the right fit within the construction industry. Eventually, I did complete my third apprenticeship and I’m genuinely proud of that. It showed me that with resilience and the right mindset you’ll end up being where you’re suppose to [link removed], an apprenticeship gave me the structure, support and practical learning style I needed to progress and choosing this path has shaped my career.
