Hi Ruby, Grade requirements will differ between firms so the only way to know for sure will be to look at what their published requirements are when looking to apply. Choosing an area of law you are interested in is tricky, but the best approach would be to either try and secure some work experience in different areas, be it a high street firm or a city firm, and see what the day to day looks like, or to try reaching out to apprentices who work in different areas and ask them what their role looks like. Importantly, think about what is important to you in a career and a role, and keep that in mind when asking these questions. I would also add that, especially for larger firms, their schemes are rotational, so you will get a chance to try different areas of law
