When applying for apprenticeships in the banking industry, prior banking work experience is generally not required or heavily emphasized. In fact, one of the main purposes of an apprenticeship is to train people who are new to the industry, including school leavers, career changers, or those with little to no experience in banking. Emphasis is placed on other things such as;Interest in banking and financeWillingness to learn and develop professionallyBasic skills like communication, numeracy, attention to detailQualifications (usually GCSEs or A-levels depending on the level of apprenticeship)Motivation and attitude (employers want to see you’re committed)
