Solicitor apprenticeships are what is known as a Level 7 apprenticeship, which means that, during the course of your apprenticeship, you will complete a part time LLB degree and also sit the SQE. This process overall takes ~6 years to complete. You do indeed need to complete the SQE to qualify as a solicitor
