I notice the BBC are coming in line with the academic calendar; will more apprenticeship providers follow suit and if so, when?
We have flexibility with our roles and we recruit all year round, to cater for those just finishing school but also for those who may go to University but decide it isn't for them and drop out. Students can sign up for email alerts so they are notified when new roles become available: [Link removed]
We have a number of Business Apprenticeship roles available across our three service lines, Tax, Assurance and Transactions. We still have a number of roles open for September 2017 start, with applications closing on Thursday 29th June. Our applications for 2018 start will open in early July too and candidates are able to register their interest to be the first to hear when roles become available via our website.
Do you have a specific recruitment time to recruit apprentices? Would a young person have to apply a couple of months, or even a year in advance for your apprenticeship opportunities?
added post from JMorrison :)
Students can apply at any point when they are in their final year for M&G roles. We would wait until the student has finished school for the start date.
Cadcoe operates in line with the academic year, with a course starting in September. We also have one which starts in April. Our digital engineering apprenticeship programme is unique in the fact that we deliver a 20 week fast-track computer aided design course, prior to the apprentice starting full-time with their employer. This has always worked really well in terms of students knowing in advance that they have a set start date and structure from day one and also gives the employers something to plan towards. From past experience with another provider it's determined by sector, some employers like the idea of a start date in line with when students finish their education whilst others need to be reactive to their business needs.
Cadent work in line with the school year too - we start recruiting in the Autumn prior to the start date the following September, but this means that candidates have often secured their role by Spring meaning they can focus on their studies at the end of the year.
