Job prospects looking good for this year’s graduates

It’s good news for the class of 2015 with more job opportunities and more attractive pay packages, new figures have revealed.

According to reed.co.uk, there are 77% more job vacancies compared to the same time last year, and the average graduate salary is £26,179 – 2% above the current rate of inflation.

There have also been 85% more applications for apprenticeships, which shows just how popular they’re becoming in the UK.

The industries with the highest annual employment growth this year are motoring and automotive, and construction and property.

And the sectors advertising the most graduate opportunities are recruitment consultancy, sales, education, technology, marketing and PR.

James Reed, chairman of reed.co.uk, says: “For the thousands of graduates entering the job market for the first time, prospects look bright this year, with more job opportunities and more attractive pay packages.”
